A summary. In short little sentences.

Hello.

Hi there.

Where the hell have I been?

Relaxin’, that’s where.

I’ve been meaning to pop in here and jot some stuff down for a few days. Even had a nice “the 4th of July is important even when modern america kind of sucks it” post brewing all day yesterday. But I just never got around to any of it.

What have I been doing?

Helping friends move. Drinking beer on back porches. Drinking beer on my porch. Going to parties. Laughing. Eating Taco Bell. Watching world cup footsoccerball. Eating breakfast sandwiches. Buying things at Ikea. Sleeping late. Making fun of the cat. Watching season 1 of BSG. Playing PS2. Laundry. Making dinner. Reading. Spending wonderful time with Emily.

So, yeah, that’s what I’ve been doing.

Happy July, everyone. 2006 is more than half way in the bag.

Please???

You know what would be nice?

If the world could somehow know that yesterday I was on a plane twice as long as I was supposed to be and, as a result, go a pitiful amount of sleep last night. The world, knowing this, would be overwhelmed with compassion and just take it easy on me today.

No, I don’t think that’ll happen either. But it would be nice.

The plane home was supposed to leave at 5:45. I think we actually pushed back from the gate sometime after 6. Taxied a bit and then stopped. The pilot told us of the storms in Baltimore and that the airport was closed until further notice. We waited in the plane, on the ground for 2 hours.

Finally took off bounced our way to a wet and wild landing in the 11:30ish zone.

Went home, scarfed down a cheese pretzel and went to bed.

5 and a half hours of sleep later, my work week began.

Please world, just a day (or two) of low-stress, low-impact work?
