Let’s get acquainted, shall we?
My name is Mike. Some people call me Michael. Some people only ever call me by my last name. I don’t really have a preference, as long as you don’t call me “that son of a bitch”.
I sit here before you today a 30 year old guy, definitely not a man but also not able to get away with being a child anymore. In October of 2006, I got married to the beautiful Emily: the love of my life, my reason, my one. She’s also the reason I spend alot less time eating pizza and watching sci-fi in my underwear and the one who makes me get up off the couch and do the dishes already. She makes me happy to come home at the end of the day.
In ’07 I quit my job, rented a moving van, and headed North. Emily and I now live in the maple-y state of Vermont where I’m working towards a Masters in Historic Preservation and we’re both enjoying drastically reduced stress levels.
Way back in 2000, I started a blog of a different name. It was fun for a time and I learned alot about writing and about html/the web/etc. Eventually the old blog fell by the wayside.
Lately though, I’ve been feeling the need to write again and decided I was ready for my own place on the web. In early April of 2006 I registered nerdhut.com.
And here I am. Here you are.
We’re going to be best friends, I just know it.
